Dr. McBride is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and Certified Trauma
Practioner with experience providing therapy to adults, young adults, children,
adolescents, couples and families. Her priorities in therapy are placed firmly on the
needs and goals of her clients, delivered through collaboration, transparency and
connection. She believe in the healing power of people, meaningful change and
personal growth, and her goal is to help provide that pathway for clients.

Dr. McBride’s therapeutic style is integrated with a client-centered, strengths-based and empathetically- attuned approach, and is offered through evidenced-based
practices. Each client relationship is grounded with a rich, therapeutic alliance
which allows for the individual, couple or family to identify and resolve issues,
repair or build lasting and meaningful connections or overcome emotional
burdens. She works to empower her clients’ intrinsic ability to use their resilience and
insight to live more peaceful and balanced lives.


In addition to helping clients in therapy, she has been an educator for the last
eleven years serving in preschool, K-12, and higher-education settings. She frequently works collaboratively with businesses, providers, and other groups to provide trainings
and educational seminars.

 

 

 

Dr. McBride earned her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of
Toledo. She also holds an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bowling Green
State University and a  B.A. in Special Education from Bowling Green State
University.


Her professional background includes working in a variety of mental health settings,
including non-profit organizations, community mental health, hospitals and school
settings. She is skilled in providing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution
Focused Therapy (SFT), and empowering interventions with a trauma-focused lens.
This has allowed her to utilize empirically-derived strategies that help others to find
independence, healing and strength.


Through her varied experiences, her work included providing therapy to couples
and youth which taught her the value of psycho-educational techniques, teaching
clients to have a better understanding of themselves and others in order to have
more meaningful connections.


Dr. McBride has established a foundation in Trauma work through The National Institute for
Trauma and Loss in Children, and maintains her certification as a Trauma Practioner
through continued education. In addition to working directly with clients, she enjoys
providing education and consultation about trauma, youth & adolescents, mental
health, and sexuality. She has also facilitated workshops, supportive groups, and
classes to educators, first responders, and other serving professionals. Additionally,
she is trained in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) in which she's able to
anticipate needs, safety risks and provide de-escalation strategies.
